Staircase lighting timer with switch-off indication AS-220T
Staircase lighting timer (time switch) is used to keep the lighting on in corridors, staircases or other places for a certain period of time, after which the lighting will be switched off automatically.
Functioning
When activated by momentary (bell) switch the staircase lighting timer keeps the lighting switched on for the time set by the potentiometer (from 0.5 to 10 minutes), after which the brightness of the lighting system is reduced to the level set by the potentiometer (from 25 % to 70 %) for 30 seconds. Only after this time will the lighting be completely switched off
(sudden darkness is avoided, there is time for safe access to the switch). During the reduced brightness the subsequent signal from the switch will switch the lighting back on to full brightness. The device can operate in on of two modes: with anti-lock on or off, and the choice is made by the installer during the installation (shorting the selection input to the phase voltage or leaving it unconnected).
The anti-lock function prevents the lighting from being constantly on in case the staircase lighting timer is locked (for example with a match). If that happens, the device will time the preset time and switch off the lighting. The lighting can be switched on again after the lock has been removed.
Attention!
The anti-block function works only when connected to a 4-wire installation.
The operation of the device with the anti-lock function switched off allows the unit to be used along the motion sensors. When the motion sensor is triggered and its operating contact is closed, the light will be on at full power. If the motion sensor contact opens and the time set on the staircase lighting timer runs out earlier, then the brightness of the light will be reduced to the set power for a period of 30 s. If the motion sensor contact opens before the time set on the staircase lighting timer runs out, the lighting remains on for the remaining time and is then reduced.
Attention!
- AS-220T can work with backlit buttons.
- The device does not work with lamps not adapted to phase control such as fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps or other lamps with electronic starter.
- The device works with dimmable LED lighting (phase control).
